Where to start
Your first report is a snapshot of what TrustyRunner could observe. It is not a list of tasks to do all at once. Choose a result that concerns an important page or function of your site, and first understand what it means.
What matters first
A page that cannot be reached from the main menu may need attention before an informational detail on a secondary page. Consider the possible effect on visitors, the part of the site involved, and the reported severity without treating the label as an automatic decision.
How to read a result
Ask: what was observed? where? what was not verified? The check's guide explains the topic in plain language and then states the scan's scope. A fact present or absent in one response does not necessarily describe the whole site.
When data is uncertain
Your report may contain a finding to review, a useful observation, or a check that lacked enough data. If a request failed or the scan covered only part of the site, do not turn missing data into a confirmed problem: first gather the information you need.
One step at a time
- Open the result most relevant to a real site function.
- Read its guide and check whether the result matches the setup you intended.
- Change one thing at a time, test the affected page or service, then run a new scan.
Guides to begin with
Choose the topic matching your result. Each guide separates the real-world concern from what the scan can actually establish.
- robots.txt and Sitemap.xml for page discovery;
- Broken Links for internal links;
- Security Headers and TLS / HTTPS for two different aspects of web protection.
